Lying at the southern tip of Africa, South Africa offers some of the best safari destinations on the African continent. Home to Africa's big five, the sweeping expanses of the highvelt and the breath taking beauty of the Drakensberg mountain range. South Africa contains many unspoilt areas of wilderness that are a dream for those on safari. Teeming with wildlife and plant life, South Africa is home to 10% of all known species of plants on Earth. The Country's modern cities provide easy access to safari destinations so guests can spend more time enjoying the wilderness and less time traveling.

South Africa is a diverse country with many activities on offer. It is also one country where self-drive packages between the Classic Safari Camps is a viable option. Game drives, walking safaris, bird watching, mountain biking and horseback safaris are available activities in the reserves which all offer an abundant of wildlife. One should not forget about the beautiful Lake St Lucia which lies within the iSimangaliso Wetland Park World Heritage Site, the heart of Africa’s largest natural estuary offering safari experiences adventure activities and game viewing.

Climate: Summer (Nov to Mar) warm temperatures between 28ºC- 32ºC, with chances of thunderstorms in the evenings. Autumn (Apr-May) warm days 22ºC – 28ºC and cool evenings 10ºC - 15ºC. Winter (June-Aug) days are warm with temperatures in the mid 20’s and mornings and evenings very cold with temperatures between 5ºC- 12ºC. Weather starts to warm up again in Sept and Oct.
